Three pupils become full members at Exchange Chambers
October 1, 2021
We are delighted to announce that Ben Berkson, Amie Boothman and Charlotte Noddings have successfully completed their pupillage and have been voted in as full members of Exchange Chambers.
Ben Berkson, based in Liverpool, undertook a criminal law pupillage under the supervision of Martine Snowden. Amie Boothman, based in Manchester, undertook a commercial pupillage under the supervision of Andrew Vinson, while Charlotte Noddings, based in Leeds, undertook a common law pupillage under the supervision of Alex Menary and Sean Smith.
All three new members undertook their pupillage during the Covid-19 pandemic, with Ben Berkson saying “for those who think that the pandemic might slow down the pace of pupillage, I can confidently say that I have had the broadest and most interesting set of experiences”.
Exchange Chambers has been widely praised for its approach to pupillage with Legal Cheek’s Junior Barrister Survey stating “Northern Superset Exchange Chambers offers one of the most civilised introductions to the bar around. Rookie barristers get variety, their own caseload (rather than just little pieces of huge cases that some London sets give their young) and a standard of living that those in the capital can only dream of in their early years.”
Exchange Chambers has also recently announced a new calendar of pupillage events. The “Northern Powerhouse” will be hosting a range of Zoom and in person events over the coming months as the Set continues to welcome 6 pupils every year to its pupillage academy.
