Social worker represented by Sarah Barlow at HCPTS hearing cleared of misconduct
October 8, 2019
Sarah Barlow from Exchange Chambers, instructed by Deepika Raino from Slater & Gordon, has successfully defended a social worker at a Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service (HCPTS) Conduct and Competence Committee Hearing.
The client and two other social workers faced a range of allegations, including allegations of dishonesty, relating to their work with an adoption agency. The case was complex and took 14 days to hear. It involved serious and significant counter allegations between the parties.
At the end of the hearing, no findings amounting to misconduct were made against the social worker represented by Sarah and Deepika. Misconduct was found in relation to each of the other two parties appearing before the HCPTS, one of whom was ultimately struck off the register.
