Simon Lewis appointed Non-Executive Director of the West Riding County Football Association
March 8, 2018
One of the largest football associations in England, the West Riding County FA, has appointed Simon Lewis as a non-executive director.
The West Riding County FA aims to grow participation, promote diversity and regulate the game of football for everyone to enjoy across the county. It supports the game at all levels and has successfully developed a range of business and community partnerships.
This appointment builds on Simon’s practice in employment and equality law, disciplinary and regulatory law, and sports law.
It follows his other appointments as an England Boxing Disciplinary Panel Member (2017) and an independent Case Examiner within the Fitness to Practise Directorate of the General Optical Council (2016).
Simon practises mainly in employment and commercial law. Simon was appointed Junior Counsel to the Crown in 2015 on the Attorney General’s regional panel for a period of five years. He frequently acts for both respondents and claimants in complex, multi-day employment tribunals and has an outstanding employment practice for a barrister of his call. His commercial practice covers contractual disputes, directors’ duties, unfair prejudice petitions, insolvency matters and possession. He was called to the bar in 2012.
Simon is a key member of both the commercial and employment teams at Exchange Chambers.
