Annual Construction and Engineering Law Review

We are pleased to invite you to our Annual Construction and Engineering Law Review of 2023 which will be held as a hybrid event – in person in Manchester and via Zoom.

At this year’s Annual Review, the Exchange Chambers Construction Team, including James Malam, Adam Beaumont, Simon Whitfield and David Fearon, will provide a practical guide to the issues and decisions you need to know about. The talks from will cover:

• The subject of damages for delay: current arguments for and against enforcement of LAD clauses since Cavendish Square Holding BV v Makdessi, looking at Buckingham Group v. Peel L&P Investments and Property Ltd.
• The accrual of a cause of action in respect of defective buildings, the Building Safety Act 2022 and the Court of Appeal’s subsequent decision in July 2023 in URS Corp v BDW Trading.
• An update on the latest cases in adjudication.
• Other cases of interest in the last year.
