Satpal Roth-Sharma secures acquittal for defendant charged with domestic violence

Satpal Roth-Sharma has secured an acquittal for defendant charged with domestic violence.  The client was charged with Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and Intentional Strangulation.

The client was accused of assaulting his partner which involved intentional strangulation.  It was alleged that he had strangled her to the point of passing out, then punched, kicked and stamped on her head. The defendant maintained self defence as he was stabbed first and had to defend himself.  Following a 5- day trial before HHJ Clarke sitting at Leeds Crown Court the client was unanimously acquitted for the ABH and Majority 11/1 on intentional strangulation.
