Rapist receives 15-year jail sentence in case prosecuted by Steven Swift

Steven Swift from Exchange Chambers has successfully prosecuted a rapist who tied up his victim for two hours and asked her how she wanted to die in a sickening attack.

Tinashe Mubereki, 23, originally pleaded not guilty to charges of false imprisonment and rape.  He changed his plea to guilty in respect of false imprisonment after making admissions during the course of cross-examination, while the jury found him guilty of rape.

Mubereki was jailed for 15 years, with an extended three years on licence.
