Simon is a highly experienced senior junior with a broad and extensive Defence Personal Injury practice and a thriving Court practice. His work is predominantly multi-track, however he is more than happy to still undertake fast-track work. Simon often deals with cases that have a value in excess of £1 million.

Simon has, for many years, worked for Local Authorities around the North West including Wigan, Rochdale, Bolton, Trafford, Blackburn with Darwen and Manchester. One of Simon’s areas of expertise includes accidents within the construction industry. He also works extensively for sports and leisure insurers. Simon regularly undertakes work and has particular experience within the following areas:

• Injuries within the construction industry. Simon often represents main contractors in multi-handed cases where issues arise regarding both liability and how liability should be divided between the different contractors and sub-contractors to the claim.
• Sports and leisure. Simon regularly represents both leisure venues and individual coaching staff. He has extensive knowledge and understanding of the duty of care that applies in such situations.
• Highways. Simon deals with all accidents upon the highway. He also deals with complex issues of highways law. He recently represented Wigan MBC in the recent Court of Appeal Decision in Barlow.
• Bullying. Simon is regularly instructed in cases involving both workplace bullying and bullying within the school environment. He has extensive experience of cases involving assaults within the workplace and by pupils upon teaching staff and other pupils within the school.
• Education. Drawing on his vast knowledge of education law, Simon is well-equipped to deal with cases involving alleged loss and damage arising out of educational issues.
• Sex abuse. Simon’s experience covers both abuse by those in positions of authority as well as intra-family abuse.
