Sarah defends road traffic cases in both the Crown and Magistrates Courts involving fatal accidents, dangerous driving and careless driving. She is experienced in dealing with scientific evidence, including collision investigation.
Sarah also defends in cases involving the haulage industry, including fraud, tachograph analysis, overloading etc. She is fully familiar with the rules governing the operation of Goods Vehicles.
Sarah holds an HGV Class 1 licence and a full motorcycle licence.
Motoring and Vehicle Crime cases
R v Mellor, Hull Crown Court. Instructed by the defence. Death by dangerous driving case, involving multiple experts.
R v Fox and others, Newcastle-upon-Tyne Crown Court. Defended in complex conspiracy trial. The case involved the falsification of drivers’ tachograph charts and timesheets and required detailed knowledge of EEC regulations, Sage computer records and computer interrogation. In the ninth week of the trial, the prosecution other no further evidence against Sarah’s client.
