Matthew, a former Solicitor since 2004, was called to the Bar and joined Exchange Chambers in 2022. He is a specialist children law practitioner and was a member of the Law Society’s Children Law accreditation scheme for 8 years before transferring.
During his career as a solicitor, Matthew developed an established practice with a particular emphasis on public law proceedings and complex private law proceedings. His experience covers the fullest range of child protection law, including significant matters such as the death of or serious injury to a child, sexual abuse, non-accidental injury and fabricated or induced illness.
Matthew has also had lots of involvement in cases where he has represented young people separately from their guardian in care proceedings and inherent jurisdiction proceedings.
