Inquests
James is regularly instructed on inquests. He welcomes instructions from the family or other Interested Persons.
He adopts a sympathetic and thoughtful approach and provides expert guidance and advice throughout the process.
James’ personal injury and clinical negligence experience allow him to take into consideration the implications of inquest findings on any potential future claim.
James’s recent inquest experience has included:
- Representing a GP following the death of a child patient in the GP’s care.
- Acting for the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust in a case involving a heart attack of a patient and a complex issue of delay in responding to a 999 call.
- Counsel for the Ambulance trust in a case involving death by misadventure following an overdose of a recreational drug with the issue being the airway management care of the paramedic.
- Acting for the family of the deceased who died from natural causes where there was a missed opportunity to consider the need for specialist tertiary advice.
- The consideration of Article 2 Middleton inquests in a death by hanging case.
