David is a specialist in construction, engineering and process engineering work who also deals with general commercial dispute resolution in relation to a wide range of matters including general property related disputes, supply only contracts, labour only contracts, supply of goods and services, IT, disputes with utility providers, specialist manufacturing contracts and associated issues and damage arising from hazardous materials, negligence and nuisance.
David is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has experience of and accepts appointments as adjudicator, arbitrator, and legal adviser to arbitrator.
He is an ADR Group accredited civil and commercial mediator, a qualification recognised and approved by the Civil Mediation Council and accredited by the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority and General Council of the Bar.
His professional qualifications, extensive practical experience and technical knowledge aid him in providing early case assessments and advise and dispute resolution support on a wide range of contractual and professional negligence matters.
David has acted for a wide variety of clients including international employers, developers, consultants, major, medium and small contractors and specialist sub-contractors, individuals and insurers.

Acting for modular builder in multi million pound dispute with main contractor on student accommodation.
Acting for private clients in consolidated arbitration proceedings involving a contractor’s loss and expense and final account claims and their claims arising from defective workmanship and delay in completing the works.
Defending claims brought against consultants by Local Authority on complex engineering issues in marine protection works

ADJUDICATION/ADR
David has advised and acted in dozens of adjudications, and many associated enforcement proceedings. These range from relatively low value payment disputes to multi million pound disputes. Examples include:
Acting for contractor in relation to multi million pound dispute concerning decommissioning and demolition works to a British nuclear power plant including adjudication with value of circa £25,000,000.
Acting for Local Authority on dispute with a contractor concerning defective works and loss and expense claims at a leisure and sports centre.
Acting in sundry disputes on behalf of housing developer on numerous sites relating to consultant’s fees, claims by statutory undertakers and claims against contractors for defective workmanship
