Practice Overview

Chris is a specialist personal injury and clinical negligence barrister. He only represents claimants and specialises in claims involving life-changing and catastrophic injuries or those resulting in death. He has a particular interest in cases involving traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and amputations.

Chris is recognised by his professional clients as a “stand-out junior”. He is described in industry directories as a “brilliant” and “extremely tough” advocate.

Advising professional clients, he is renowned for “cutting through complex expert reports and getting to the heart of the issues.” He is “helpful”, “knowledgeable” and “happy to hop on a call” to talk cases through.

Chris’ “easy, down-to-earth” approach is appreciated by his lay clients. He is “empathetic and patient” and provides “clear and eloquent advice with practical solutions.”

Chris has been committed to working with seriously injured people and bereaved families for nearly two decades. His aim is to establish good relationships with claimants and their families in order to ameliorate the strain of pursuing a long-running claim. He has an established track record of achieving excellent results for claimants in high-value personal injury and clinical negligence claims.

Chris will often join a claimant’s legal team and provide advice on tactics and expert evidence in the earliest stages after an injury. He will focus on securing funding for rehabilitation for injured claimants as soon as possible. He is happy to field enquiries on new cases by telephone or email as required by professional clients. Please contact the clerking team in Manchester Chambers (Leigh Daniels and Olivia Cleere) to get in touch with Chris.

Beyond his practice, Chris has a passion for improving equality and diversity at the bar. His special interest is the prevention of bullying, harassment and discrimination at the bar – a topic on which he has published articles and lectured extensively. He is an officer of the Northern Circuit’s Equality, Diversity and Social Mobility Committee.

Chris is also chair of Exchange Chambers’ pupillage committee and an organiser of the Personal Injury Bar Association’s Northern Circuit Conference.
