Insolvency

Beth has recently returned to the self-employed Bar and is building her practice in relation to insolvency work. Examples of previous insolvency work undertaken include:

  • Bankruptcy petitions
  • Applications on behalf of office-holders
  • Winding up petitions
  • Advising in relation to personal and corporate insolvency
  • Orders for sale on behalf of Trustees in bankruptcy

She has advised (in conference and in writing) in relation to both personal and corporate insolvency matters. She has advised in relation to the implications of bankruptcy on the extent of the equitable interests in jointly owned property, and advised in relation to directors’ duties and transactions at an undervalue. She has also successfully acted for creditors in disputed bankruptcy petitions.

She has also appeared on behalf of mortgagees and landlords in possession proceedings, and applications to set aside orders for possession.
