Angus is regularly instructed in complex cases of national importance. Those cases include appearing as lead disclosure counsel during the Hillsborough prosecutions, prosecuting serving police officers for serious offences of violence, prosecuting multi-handed drugs conspiracies and defending individuals charged with murder.

Notable cases

R v Nightingale – Prosecuted (led by James Bourne-Arton KC) defendants charged with murdering a man in his home.

R v DR & Others – Prosecuted (alone) an organised crime group charged with importing 500kg of high purity cocaine into the United Kingdom.

R v G – Prosecuted (alone) a defendant charged with attempting to murder his partner during a frenzied knife attack.

R v Umair Shakeel & Others – Prosecuted (alone) an organised crime group running a county lines conspiracy to move industrial levels of both heroin and cocaine from Bradford to East Yorkshire.

R v B & Others – Prosecuted (alone) an organised crime group charged with laundering over £500,000 in criminal property generated through a sophisticated international fraud targeting vulnerable victims.

R v Selmani & Others – Prosecuted (led by Stephen Wood KC) a group of foreign nationals charged with murder. The group armed themselves and attacked a rival group, in daylight, on a public street. During the attack, a member of the rival group was stabbed to death.

R v A & Others – Prosecuted (leading Temitayo Dasaolu) 25 defendants charged with a large-scale violent disorder.

R v Turner & Others – Prosecuted (leading George Hazel-Owram) an organised crime group charged with supplying industrial levels of cocaine.

R v W  – Defended (led by Sam Green KC) a young man charged with conspiracy to murder. The prosecution alleged the defendant, together with others, planned to shoot an individual in a rival organised crime group.

R v K – Defended (led by Sam Green KC) a defendant charged with attempted murder involving the use of a firearms.

R v L & Others – Prosecuted several defendants charged with a conspiracy to commit armed robberies against several jewelers in the Bradford area.

R v A & Others – Defended (led by James Lake) a defendant charged with a conspiracy to supply industrial levels of cannabis into the United Kingdom.
