Practice Overview
Amy commenced a criminal pupillage under the supervision of Fiona Clancy in March 2024. During her first six, Amy assisted on a number of high-profile cases, including two youth murders. She has been exposed to a range of criminal work, making active contributions to serious violent and sexual offence trials. Amy has had particularly good experience working with young and vulnerable clients. This opportunity has continued to develop the skills she honed as a county level and award winning cricket coach, a role in which she worked with a diverse group of people spanning a range of ages.
Amy has had experience conducting research tasks and written work during the course of her pupillage, drafting documents for counsel that have been used at trial.
Before converting to Law, Amy studied Economics and Politics at the University of Exeter, where she was awarded a Deans Commendation for her academic achievement. After winning a University of Law Mooting Competition while on the law conversion course, Amy continued to develop her advocacy skills as an immigration adviser at a Legal Advice Centre. Having completed her legal training at the University of Law, Amy then took on an employed role as a careers adviser, co-ordinating a programme for students aimed at supporting their journey to the Bar.
