Natasha Khalique from Exchange Chambers has been named Rising Star of the year at the Resolution Awards 2024.
The Rising Star Award recognises an “an emerging talent who has demonstrated their potential as a future leader of family justice”.
Resolution, the campaigning body representing more than 6,500 family justice professionals, welcomed over 200 family justice professionals to their awards presentation last night.
Joshua Rozenberg, Britain’s best known legal commentator, was once again on hand to host and present the awards at Church House, Westminster, celebrating the very best talent, innovation and pioneering practice from the wide spectrum of family justice professionals that makes up Resolution’s membership.
Called to the Bar in 2017, Natasha is a specialist family law practitioner, accepting instructions across the full spectrum of family law and appearing in the Family Court and High Court.
Natasha was diagnosed with ADHD in 2020 and Autism in 2021. Earlier this year she decided to speak out publicly to start breaking down the barriers and the stigma around being neurodiverse and to normalise conversation about the conditions.
In announcing Natasha as the winner of the Rising Star Award, the expert judging panel said:
“The winner embodies Resolution’s code of practice. She acts as a role model for law students and the judges commended her honesty and openness in overcoming adversity and addressing the challenges she has faced. One judge said, she hasn’t had it easy but she’s embraced those challenges becoming a champion for neurodiversity in the legal profession.”
Commenting on her award, Natasha said:
“I am absolutely thrilled to be named as this year’s Rising Star by Resolution. It is a huge honour and I would like to thank all my instructing solicitors and everyone at Exchange Chambers for their support.”
Grant Cameron, Chair, Resolution, said: “I would like to congratulate each and every award winner for their outstanding contributions to the family justice sector. Family courts are at breaking point, yet our members continue to go above and beyond in search of a better way for separating families.
“It is with great pride, that I can say that our awards are the only values driven awards celebrating excellence across all professions in family justice. Our awards are the ultimate seal of approval for the work our members do, designed to encourage and recognise those individuals and organisations that go above and beyond to uphold and champion our Code of Practice.”
