Imran Shafi secures acquittal in duty evasion case

Following a three week trial at Manchester Crown Court, Imran Shafi’s client was acquitted of duty evasion. His client was indicted, together with others, of evading duty on over a million cigarettes and 500kg of tobacco. In total the loss to the revenue was approximately £400,000. Others had pleaded guilty and one defendant was convicted.
