Ian Whitehurst to speak at Technology & the Law – 2018 conference

Ian Whitehurst from Exchange Chambers will be speaking at next week’s Technology & the Law conference in London.
This highly topical conference, which takes place on Monday 19 March, covers a wide range of leading edge technological developments and seeks to unravel the legal complexities surrounding them.
The speakers are experts in their respective fields and will cover the latest hot topics including cybercrime, AI and the intellectual property considerations, driverless cars and GDPR and algorithms – regulation and governance.
Ian will deliver a practical workshop session focusing on the issues arising out of the increasingly sophisticated cybercrime techniques which catch out lawyers and clients alike. This session will allow delegates to discuss, consider and draw conclusions from the implications arising from them.
Ian practises in criminal and regulatory law with a specific emphasis on data protection and cyber crime.
He is instructed on a regular basis to advise and represent a wide range of clients, including individuals, directors and companies, in relation to criminal and civil investigations by the industry regulator (the ICO); advisory and compliance issues and the developing area of civil litigation.
Furthermore, he has a developing practice in the field of data breach claims for individuals and companies whom have had their personal and sensitive data breached by third parties.
