Ian Whitehurst instructed to advise on historic murder appeal
May 14, 2018
Ian Whitehurst from Exchange Chambers has been instructed to advise on a historic murder appeal with links to organised crime.
The case, in which the victim was tortured over several hours, was tried in excess of 10 years ago and raises issues involving joint enterprise and the use and deployment of a super grass, who was a co-defendant, during the original criminal trial. There is also the question of whether sufficient and adequate disclosure was provided by the prosecution.
Ian is instructed by Sarah Mckell of Burcombe Solicitors.
Ian is an experienced criminal barrister. He defends in a wide range of serious criminal matters including homicide and serious sexual offences, as well as prosecuting and defending in serious organised crime, notably in gang related homicide, large scale drugs and firearms conspiracies, corruption cases and armed robberies.
