Ian Whitehurst and Huw Edwards secure acquittal of solicitor accused of stalking deputy district judge wife

Ian Whitehurst (leader) and Huw Edwards from Exchange Chambers, instructed by Andrea Jameson of Brian Jackson & Co Solicitors, have secured the acquittal of a Crown Prosecution Service solicitor accused of stalking his ex-wife, a Deputy District Judge.

The defendant was found not guilty of stalking his wife at Liverpool Crown Court but was convicted of three computer misuse offences.

The jury cleared him of a fourth offence under the Computer Misuse Act and earlier in the trial it had been directed to return a not guilty verdict for a fifth count of the same nature.

The defendant will be sentenced in January 2021 by Mrs Justice Steyn.
