Hateema Zia Secures Scholarship in Dubai

We are delighted to announce that Hateema Zia has been awarded the Pegasus Scholarship by The Honourable Society of the Inner Temple. Hateema will be spending 12 weeks in Dubai, and her time will be split between working with a commercial law firm and the DIFC courts. The Pegasus Scholarship Scheme allows young talented lawyers to work in other legal jurisdictions worldwide. Hateema is keen to learn about the commercial legal work in the region and looks forward to forming enduring links with the legal professionals there.

The Rt Hon The Lord Goff of Chieveley, First Chairman of the Pegasus trust, states that ‘The Pegasus scholarship scheme makes it possible for gifted young lawyers – the future leaders of their professions – to learn about the practical working of the common law system in countries other than their own, and to form enduring links with lawyers in those counties.’

As Outgoing Pegasus scholars, young English and Welsh barristers will be able to travel abroad, live and work internationally in a variety of different legal frameworks.

Hateema successfully completed her pupillage in September 2023, and is building a broad commercial chancery practice.
