Exchange Chambers’ Annual Charity Ball has raised close to £20,000 for Rooprai Spinal Trust (RST), the set’s charity partner.

Exchange Chambers announced RST as its new charity partner in October 2024 with the Ball marking the start of an extensive fundraising programme.

RST was established in 2005, inspired by Marrianne Rooprai who was paralysed from the shoulders down after a devastating car accident in the summer of 2004.

An entirely voluntary charity, RST sponsors individuals paralysed by spinal cord injury to access much-needed neuro-physiotherapy rehabilitation programmes.

“The final figures are now in and we are thrilled to have raised just short of £20,000 at our Charity Ball – huge thanks to everyone who attended and supported RST so generously,” said Jonathan I’Anson, Chief Executive at Exchange Chambers.

“An entirely voluntary charity, RST sponsors individuals paralysed by spinal cord injury to access much-needed neuro-physiotherapy rehabilitation programmes,” added Jonathan.

“At Exchange, we are very aware of the life-changing impact of spinal cord injury and the need to shine a light on the importance of post paralysis support.”

Marriane Rooprai and her partner and co-founder of RST, Andy Uttridge delivered a speech at the Ball outlining the work of the charity.

“Establishing partnerships like this one are not only financially beneficial, but they also help raise awareness of the work we do with those affected by spinal cord injuries,” said Andy. “We know first-hand how life can change in a blink of an eye and it’s vital that anyone in this situation knows there is help available.”
