Exchange Chambers team raises over £10,000 for charity through Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) climb

October 9, 2023

On Saturday 7th October, a team of Exchange Chambers barristers and staff successfully climbed Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) raising over £10,000 for the set’s charity partner, Friends of Rosie.

“We had a fantastic day out,” said Chambers Director, Nick Buckley. “The weather wasn’t too promising to start with but it cleared nicely and we all had a great time.  Thanks to everyone who supported us so generously.”

Friends of Rosie is a volunteer-led charity that provides funding for children’s cancer research to get new ideas off the ground.  When five-year-old Rosie Larkin lost her battle with cancer in 1991, her friends and family were determined to carry on the fight and set up the Friends of Rosie Children’s Cancer Research Fund.  So far, the charity has funded a total of 28 research projects at a cost of £2.75 million covering a wide variety of childhood cancers from neuroblastoma and leukaemia, to osteosarcoma and brain tumours.

Exchange’s partnership with Friends of Rosie, which runs until 2024, aims to fund a new research project to help find cures, better treatments and improved diagnosis for children with cancer.
