Exchange Chambers hosts Annual Charity Ball
November 15, 2024
Exchange Chambers last night hosted its Annual Charity Ball, raising thousands of pounds for Rooprai Spinal Trust (RST), the set’s new charity partner.
The black-tie event took place at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel in Manchester and was attended by 230 guests.
Fundraising activities on the evening included an auction, with a range of prizes generously donated by members of Chambers and clients.
Exchange Chambers announced RST as its new charity partner last month.
RST was established in 2005, inspired by Marrianne Rooprai who was paralysed from the shoulders down after a devastating car accident in the summer of 2004.
An entirely voluntary charity, RST sponsors individuals paralysed by spinal cord injury to access much-needed neuro-physiotherapy rehabilitation programmes.
Commenting on the evening, Jonathan I’Anson, Chief Executive at Exchange Chambers said:
“Our annual charity ball is the largest single event in Chambers’ fundraising calendar.
“Last night’s Ball was a truly special occasion and I would like to thank everyone who attended and supported RST so generously.”
Marriane Rooprai and her partner and co-founder of RST, Andy Uttridge delivered a speech on the evening outlining the work of the charity.
“Establishing partnerships like this one are not only financially beneficial, but they also help raise awareness of the work we do with those affected by spinal cord injuries,” said Andy. “We know first-hand how life can change in a blink of an eye and it’s vital that anyone in this situation knows there is help available.”
Andy also thanked everyone who supported the evening. “What a brilliant night. I can’t think of a better way to start our partnership with Exchange,” he added.
