David Bentley secures acquittal in high profile hotel sex trial

David Bentley from Exchange Chambers has secured an acquittal for his client in a high-profile rape and sexual assault trial involving former JLS singer Ortise Williams.
David Bentley represented Ortise Williams’ tour manager, Jamien Nagadhana, 32, who was found not guilty of sexual assault and assault by penetration.
Ortise Williams was found not guilty of raping the same woman in his hotel toom after a concert in December 2016.
During the 8-day trial, the court heard the group spent time in the VIP area of Gorgeous nightclub before going back to the Ramada Park Hall Hotel.
The jury deliberated for two hours and 17 minutes before Mr Nagadhana and Mr Williams were unanimously acquitted.
JLS rose to fame on ITV reality series The X Factor, on which they finished runners-up in 2008. The boy band went on to release four albums before they split.
