CPS reviews charging decision after representations from Imran Shafi KC

Imran Shafi KC from Exchange Chambers was privately instructed to represent a defendant [SS] charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Imran drafted detailed and comprehensive post-charge representations to the CPS encouraging them to review the original charging decision.

Upon receipt and consideration of the representations, the reviewing lawyer reduced the charge to one of causing serious injury by careless driving.

Having initially been facing a custodial sentence with a starting point of two years, Imran’s client pleaded guilty and was fined a relatively modest amount instead.
