Chris Richards secures substantial settlement for injured police officer

April 11, 2025

Chris Richards has successfully represented a police officer who was involved in a slipping accident at work.

The Claimant was using a car park which was provided by the police force who employed him. Unfortunately, there was an accumulation of organic deposits which had not been cleared, and the Claimant slipped. The Claimant suffered a serious injury to his right ankle as a result.

Chris worked closely with his solicitor, Sajida Chaudry at Ralli, to build the case.

The Claimant successfully negotiated an 85:15 settlement on liability, and the focus then turned to obtaining an appropriate amount of compensation. Chris and his solicitors arranged for the Claimant to be examined by a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with expertise in ankle injuries. Chris and his solicitors also carefully identified the financial losses which would need to be pursued.

After a number of court hearings, and with the claim approaching trial, the Defendant offered the Claimant a substantial settlement, which was accepted.

The Claimant commented as follows:

“I would highly recommend both Sajida and Chris for their case management, and in obtaining a swift, and very acceptable positive outcome for my case.”

Chris Richards is a member of the personal injury department at Exchange Chambers, and was instructed by Sajida Chaudry at Ralli Solicitors.
