November 3, 2020
Caroline Abraham from Exchange Chambers has secured an acquittal in a three-day drugs supply and money laundering case at Leeds Crown Court.
The defendant was charged with possession of cannabis with intent to supply and possession of criminal property, on the basis that there was 138 grams of cannabis found in his vehicle, allegedly packaged as street deals and having over £1000 in cash.
Through pointing out the deficiencies in the Crown’s case regarding evidence that one would usually associate with drugs supply, Caroline was able to secure a unanimous acquittal allowing the defendant to retain his good character.
Caroline was instructed by Akef Akbar at Tyler Hoffman Solicitors.
