Caroline Abraham secures acquittal for man charged with section 18 wounding

Caroline Abraham from Exchange Chambers has secured an acquittal for her client on charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article.
The defendant, 42, was alleged to have assaulted the complainant with a Stanley knife causing a deep slash wound to the complainant’s neck, whilst the complainant was asleep in a vehicle in Knottingley.
The defendant denied that he was the attacker, raising the defence of mistaken identification and alibi.
At the conclusion of a 4-day trial, the jury returned unanimous not guilty verdicts.
