Benjamin Myers KC represents senior police officer cleared of allegations of misconduct and gross misconduct

After a two-week disciplinary hearing, Deputy Assistant Commissioner Matthew Horne of the Metropolitan Police has been cleared of all allegations of misconduct and gross misconduct.

DAC Horne was represented by Benjamin Myers KC of Exchange Chambers.

The case required a close consideration of the interpretation of ‘legitimate policing purpose’ and ‘police duties’.  Considering the specific facts of DAC Horne’s case, the Panel found that he had not breached any of the relevant Standards of Professional Behaviour and they made no adverse findings against him.
