October 20, 2022

Caroline Abraham from Exchange Chambers has secured an acquittal for her client facing allegations of armed robbery and possession of a bladed article at Bradford Crown Court.

The defendant, 30, was alleged to have taken a knife to a taxi driver’s throat in Bradford in order to steal his takings. In the lead up to the defendant’s trial he was assessed by two psychiatrists and was found to be harbouring delusional beliefs, the court had determined the defendant was unfit to plead or stand trial.

Following a two-day fact-finding hearing, the jury returned unanimous not guilty verdicts after 30 minutes deliberation.
