Annual Insolvency Conference 2017 welcomes record number of delegates

Exchange Chambers this week hosted its Annual Insolvency Conference in Manchester and Leeds.
The events attracted over 140 delegates across the two cities. Both were accredited with 3.5 CPD points. In its 17th year, the conference attracted the highest number of delegates to date.
Speakers from Exchange Chambers included Mark Cawson QC, Karen Troy, Christopher Cook, Lawrence McDonald, Ian Tucker, David Williams and Anja Lansbergen-Mills. Exchange Chambers’ Academic Associate, Dr John Tribe, from the University of Liverpool, also presented. The Leeds event included an address from guest speaker Stephen Baister, Former Bankruptcy Registrar.
Topics included the interaction of family and insolvency proceedings, Section 127, legal privilege in bankruptcy following Leeds v Lemos [2017] EWHC 1825 (Ch), Brexit and insolvency, the jurisdiction to annul bankruptcy orders, and obtaining and deploying evidence in insolvency applications.
