Alex Menary secures acquittal of serving Police Inspector

Acting on behalf of a serving Police Inspector of over 29 years’ experience, Alex Menary from Exchange Chambers has secured an acquittal before the Nottingham Magistrates’ Court in relation to an allegation of common assault.

The incident had been captured on a mobile phone, but the District Judge was persuaded that the prosecution had failed to prove that the Officer was not acting in lawful self-defence.

As a result the Officer was free to return to his duties after being suspended for a year. Alex was instructed by Darren Cook of RJW Legal.
