October 26, 2020
Neil Cadwallader has become the first resident Chancery Judge at the Business & Property Courts in Liverpool following his appointment as a Specialist Civil Circuit Judge.
Neil Cadwallader takes on the role following a long and successful career as a barrister at Exchange Chambers.
Called to the Bar in 1984, Neil Cadwallader has been ranked as a leader in his field by the independent legal directories for over a decade. Comments by Chambers UK and The Legal 500 include: “he has very sound judgement on the law and is good at the detail” and “extremely thorough, intensely bright and superbly prepared”.
At the Business & Property Courts in Liverpool, he will sit predominantly in Chancery cases, but also in other parts of the Courts when required, including the Administrative Court and the Upper Tribunal Immigration and Asylum Chamber (UTIAC).
Commenting on his appointment, Neil Cadwallader said:
“It is a real honour to take on this new role as the first resident Chancery Judge at the Business & Property Courts in Liverpool.
“Since the Courts opened in February 2018, they have allowed businesses and lawyers to resolve their disputes locally and underpinned Liverpool’s continued success as a legal centre of excellence. No case is too big for the regions.”
Said Jonathan I’Anson, Chief Executive at Exchange Chambers:
“On behalf of everyone at Chambers, I would like to thank Neil for the hugely positive contribution he has made over the years. His appointment as a Specialist Civil Circuit Judge further strengthens the Business & Property Courts in Liverpool.”
